2017: DENVER “FLOCK OF FOXES”

Inside Colopalooza: Craig Jacobin

“I ALWAYS LOVED SITTING AROUND CAMPFIRES GROWING UP AND HAD LONG WANTED TO HAVE ONE AT cOLOPALOOZA. tHIS YEAR, i HAPPENED TO BE IN DENVER A FEW DAYS BEFORE THE REST OF THE PALOOZIANS, SO I SCOUTED OUT A SPOT NEAR CHRIS’ CABIN AND BOUGHT SOME fireWOOD AND and a cooler full of banquet beers.

we stopped by Hernandos to get some pizzas and then made our way to the campfire site. for 15 minutes it was awesome—a blazing fire, delicious pizza and cold brews. but then i noticed that i’d left the interior light of the palooza van on and went back to turn it off when i noticed a huge moose was standing right in front of the van. the paloozians scurried over in disbelief only to be confronted with the now snorting beast. he finally wandered up the hill and all seemed ok.

but just a few minutes later, we were surrounded by what i described as a “flock of foxes” and that was that. We poured water on our campfire and bolted back to the safety of the log palace. too much wildlife.
