The Paloozians have consistently had great times in southern cities. So it’s time for them to hit one the south’s crown jewels—the world’s home to country music, Nashville.

After a grueling 17 year hiatus, Gary is finally back in the big boys club when we returns to Colopalooza.

The boys are finally together in their Nash VRBO rental.

The Paloozians discover an assortment of bachelorette party hats in one of the closets. Bill appears to be a shoe-in for his upcoming audition for a spot in “Thunder From Down Under”.

The Paloozians have their pick of hats from white to cow print to matte pink to glossy pink. It’s just so hard to decide.

Sean lifts off his shirt and let’s his man fur flow.

The first stop is Hattie B’s, which is famous for their Nashville Hot Chicken.

Craig and Milo begin to dive into the hot chicken sandwiches and fried pickles. The food is very solid.

Bill asks for the BBQ sauce as Milo goes into meal prep mode—a process that takes anywhere from 18-36 minutes, depending on whether ranch dressing is involved.

The boys pile into the Palooza Van and head to Broadway Street to check out Nashville’s world famous music scene.

The boys soon discover why many call this town “Nashvegas”.

Almost every club on this stretch features 2-3 floors with different bands performing on each floor. Here is a good country band performing at The Stage.

The boys are kicking things into “night one mode” as the music and drinks begin to flow at The Stage.

Even Seanie is getting into the act, as he belts out some lyrics.

The view overlooking Broadway as fans spill out of Bridgestone Arena after the CMAs wrap up in Nashville.

Chris is all laughs as the boys head down the lower stage.

The street level stage at The Stage features a band that’s offering up more of a southern rock vibe.

A huge wall mural at The Stage features the legends of country music, including Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard and Little Jimmy Dickens.

Peering through a set of guitar strings on the country music capital of the world. Many of the buildings along this stretch served as hospitals during the Civil War. Now look at them.

The Paloozians spill out on to the street before moving on to another bar. There’s plenty of activity for a Wednesday night.

One of the world’s great bars is Robert’s Western World, home to old school country music (fiddling required) and about 75 years worth of cowboy boots and memorabilia.

Wreck can’t believe that Robert’s only has a few beers on tap. He’ll need to go back to his new standby, the Manhattan.

One side of the bar features a cowboy boot hall of fame, which includes the boots of the performing artists pictured behind them. There are probably 200 sets in all.

Here are The Cowpokes—a fiddle-playing, slide guitar-strumming, western tie-wearing band like no other tearing it up at Robert’s.

The Cowpokes looked and played like they had just been transported in from a 1950’s backyard hootenanny.

The boys have the ink to prove it was a night well spent. Night one of Colopalooza is often the best of the trip.

After a night on the town, the boys load up on snacks as Sean tries on a wig he’s thinking about wearing for the Jack tour.

It doesn’t have years of history like Cafe du Monde, but Biscuit Love has some of the best breakfast in America. Day two gets started with some amazing biscuits.

The line outside of Biscuit Love is long but reassuring. Damn, these biscuits must be something else!

Knowing that gravy-doused biscuits would soon follow, the boys wisely order some “bonuts” (beignet + donut) covered in sugar and lemon mascarpone. Uh yeah, they taste good.

Another plate of bonuts are covered in pecan sticky bun sauce. Uh yeah, they taste good too.

The Paloozians have had their fair share of biscuits over the years and at some of the best breakfast joints in the country. These flaky gem are the finest the’ve ever tasted.

The food arrives and the Paloozians are off to the races!

After breakfast, the boys make their way to the Musician Hall of Fame in downtown Nashville.

Craig prances back from the iconic stage where new inductees are announced.

The back wall is comprised entirely of all forms of string instruments painted entirely black.

Milo’s fave Tom Petty has some guitars and concert costumes on display.

Chris sits down to tickle the ivories and bang out some Blue Man Group show tunes for his fellow Paloozians.

Clem and Web square off on lead guitar. Who knew Clem was such a musical wunderkind? Nobody, I tell you.

Some classic guitars from some of the best musicians ever.

This Ludwig set served as the steady beat behind many chart-topping Beach Boys recordings.

The boys take a quick breather in the lobby before moving on for some mid-day refreshment.

Several country stars have clubs in Nashville. The boys stop in Jason Aldean’s to check it out and do some quality peeing.

The bar at Aldean’s can also harvest corn on off-days.

The Paloozians move on to another country singer’s bar, this one owned by Luke Bryan. Here’s one of Milo’s “Kilroy Was Here” style shots that are very common in his Palooza pics.

If Al is the Paloozians’ “Southern Gentleman”, Gary is most definitely their “Redneck Legend”.

Paloozian Cultural Day continues, as the lads make their next stop at the Johnny Cash Museum.

For many, Johnny Cash is the ultimate country star. While a lot of county tunes have to do with partying, Cash specialized in songs of sorrow, hard times and redemption.

The museum includes the Cash family piano, the first instrument that young Johnny learned to play.

Sean relives what it was like for those Folsom prisoners when Johnny came out to play his most iconic concert. Not pictured: Gary singing “Ring of Fire” just below the frame.

Sean left some interesting notes for his fellow museum visitors on the electronic display. They were erased almost instantly by the territorial museum staffers.

To transition from the cultural portion of the day, the Paloozians shifted into barbecue mode at Martin’s.

As the boys are making their way in to Martin’s, a team of middle-aged bachelorettes are making their way out. They couldn’t wait to get a group pic of the Paloozians.

The boys dig into the barbecue. It was a solid B+ meal.

Sean wakes up on day three fully prepared to tour the Jack Daniel distillery, as Craig fires up some fresh coffee.

After a dangerous 90 minute drive through the backwoods of Tennessee, the boys arrive in Lynchburg for the tour.

The boys gather for a group shot in front of a prohibition era delivery truck that was used when Jack had to open a hardware and general store to survive the ban on booze.

As is true for most Paloozian tour guides, she has about enough of us after maybe 10 minutes.

Here’s another Jack Delivery Truck, but this one is clearly from the post-Prohibition era.

Charred white oak is what gives Jack its distinctive smokey taste. Here are pallets of white oak stacked up before they enter the furnace.

The forklift brings out freshly charred oak chips that are now ready to be added to the Jack distilling process.

Jack has been brewed with water from Cave Springs Hollow since 1866. The water contains limestone, which removes iron from the water and contributes to Jack’s unique taste.

Despite being one of the largest whisky manufacturers in the world, every single drop of the over 15 million cases of Jack sold each year are distilled right here in Lynchburg.

Workers are adding special labels to bottles on the line.

Jack Daniel was successful in large part because he refused to cut corners. That’s why every bottle is still made in Lynchburg to this day.

Next to our guide is a safe that Jack kicked when he couldn’t open it. He broke his toe, which got infected. He then lost the toe, then his foot, then his leg. Eventually the infection killed him. He probably should have just poured whisky on it.

Michael and Bill are feeling good as they enter the exclusive George Green Barrel Room for the moment they’ve been waiting for. Time for Jack samples.

The boys are treated to five different samples, including one made especially for Frank Sinatra, who was their biggest celebrity endorser ever.

Milo is definitely ready to start sampling some fresh whisky. Enough with this beer brewery sampling crizap!!

Every sampler had a corresponding card describing the origin, aroma, flavor notes, and proof counts.

Milo’s already feeling pretty good after the first two shots.

Clem and Wreckage seem to be enjoying the sample.

And then just like that, all that good whisky is gone.

Sean seems to have found a new birding camouflage hat.

After the tour, the Paloozians walk into Lynchburg to get some cheeseburgers at the Lynchburg Cafe.

After the long drive back to Nashville, the boys make their way to Smith & Lentz for some pre-game beers and dinner before heading to Grand Ole Opry House laster that night.

The pizzas at Smith & Lentz are just outstanding.

The boys then make it over to Opryland, home to the Grand Ole Opry for their Friday Night Country Concert.

The Opry got it’s start as a radio show that was housed in Nashville’s famed Ryman Auditorium back in 1925. The original entrance doors are just inside the new Opry location.

The Paloozians get to see some country classic perform.

The boys are enjoying the show as they get comfy in their church pews.

Faith Carter belts out one of her hits, “Already Crazy” in honor of the fun-loving Paloozians in the audience.

This band puts on a classic Hee-Haw style performance, complete with the uber-baratone bass player.

After the Opry show, the boys make the painful drive to Knoxville to be local for the early kick-off time for the Vols game. Along the way, he boys ransack the most famous roadside c-store in America.

Just as the boys are fading on their long drive, they receive video encouragement from Brad, who is back in Boulder on the set of Mary Poppins. “When you think you’re done drinking, do the Admiral a favor, and have just one more.”

Day four gets started with some rain-soaked tailgating before the Vols game. Here’s Milo digging into a leftover Buc-ee’s barbecued pork sammy that sat in the van all night.

Al is all smiles as the beers are being handed out, despite the extremely wet forecast for the game.

The boys begin to put the finishing touches on their beverages before what promises to be a very rainy afternoon at Neyland Stadium.

Bill appears to be reacting to an incoming nuclear missile as the boys behind him make their way into the stadium.

Former Vols Linebacker Al Wilson and Coach Robert Neyland greet the Paloozians as they enter Neyland.

The Vols Marching Band takes the field before kick-off.

“Rocky Top, you’ll always be, home sweet home to meeeee. Good ol’ Rocky Top. <woooo!> Rocky Top, Tennessee.”

Neyland opened up in 1921 and it definitely feels that way when you’re walking around under the stands trying to figure out where you can buy some orange checkered pants.

The giant Buc-ee’s float makes an appearance at halftime.

Wait, when did Marty Feldman get a seat in our section?

Heisman hopeful, QB Herndon Hooker lets it rip for 405 combined yards and 4 TDs to bring the Vols to 8-1.

After the game, the Paloozians walk down through the campus toward the University Book Store for some gear.

Very clever of the locals to call it Peyton Manning “Pass”.

One unique feature of the UT campus is the ten different Smokey The Mascot statues that are scattered around. Leave it to Rockin’ to defile one them after the game and open up the Paloozians to getting shanked by some local toughs.

Pretty confident that they don’t yet have a bullet train in Knoxville, the boys trek back to the van after the game.

After the game, the boys spot a local brewery before heading over to Top Golf. Milo was thrilled to find a cider there.

Al and Milo are ready to play the links at Top Golf.

After pouring some pints, Sean takes the pitcher for himself.

Craig squares up his driver like a boss right before shanking his ball right into the side net. Zero points for you!

The Paloozians start day five by heading down near Nissan Stadium to get some breakfast. Milo wisely chooses the biscuits and chicken.

After breakfast, the Paloozians head over to Whisky River to get some bloody marys and listen to some more music.

I’m sorry, but this might be the best photo of Al ever taken.

The band brought the place to life on a cold Sunday morning.

Between near misses in the Palooza Van and an utter lack of sleep, Michael doesn’t know what to think of Colopalooza.

The boys are bundled up as they begin the walk over to Nissan Stadium on what is our coldest day of the trip.

Craig keeps a watchful eye out for potential shankers after that whole Smokey incident, as the boys head toward the bridge that leads to the stadium.

In case you haven’t noticed, there is a frequent use of the terms Ol’ and Ole’ in this town. So the Paloozians figure Blake Shelton’s Ole’ Red would be a good spot for a late dinner before boarding their flights home. So long, Palooza Nation.
